CRIMSON
A cold wind was blowing across the plains. From afar it looked like any other barren field in rural India. The morning sun had been late in coming, but come it had. That day, the sun had risen ashen grey amidst a heavy blanket of mist, fog, smoke and human suffering. The light was dim, and spread slow but sure, across the lands that were parched of love, and desperate for some light.
A little girl wandered across the wasted land, hugging herself and wrapping the insignificant rag she had on, tighter around her thin frame. She was looking around with quick fidgety jerks of her head. The girl was not a day older th
Me and my Moon
Hark! Fellow wanderer, rest your weary head,
So I may tell you a story to keep you in good stead.
One night, I did glance upon the heavens in a swoon,
I looked on in wonder at the besickled Moon.
And the closer I looked, and the longer I glared,
I came across thoughts not normally dared.
And as I unravelled these thoughts, so clear, so new,
My Moon, he shone down on me with warmth reserved for few.
You see, my Moon, is resolute, unshakeable beyond doubt,
Of his steadfastness, we are assured out and out.
And though the times may change, and the month may wane,
And though the shadow of fatigue will conquer his iridesc
Home from War
He says he loves rainy morns,
Not for him, those whimpish lover's dawns.
He's staring down from atop a hill,
Upon the land, he calls home, still;
Since they saw him last, it's been a while,
White picket fences, just wasn't his style.
He found his life's path going down paths trodden a plenty,
Though at the time just one and twenty;
But he knew it was time, to cross that homely threshold,
Time to catch the bull by the horns, time to be bold.
They thought he was mad to the core,
When he said he was off to war;
He thought he'd saved his life from going bland,
Not to mention a chance to defend his land.

The sun fought its battle in silence, many millions of miles above the war torn grounds that had waited all night for this very moment. Hello everybody! Well, I'm Shashank and I'm a doctor, living in India. I've been drawing crap in the back my notebooks since as long back as I can remember using notebooks... which is prettty long if you plan on becoming a doctor... Any how, I only started taking my self seriously about a year ago, and at present I'm dabbling in the smudgy dark world of charcoal and graphite, and loving it!
I also write, so I'll be adding some of my written work here too. :)

Hello dear dear deviant friends...
First of all- Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
It's been a hell of a year so far. After enjoying the first 6 months of married life and also taking a couple of exams, I've now relocated temporarily to my brother's place in Springfield, IL, and I plan to spend the next few months here attending interviews, at the end of which (fingers crossed), I will start my residency in Pediatrics here in America next Summer. I know, it sounds boring, and, well, yeah- it is.....
But, any way, long story short- I haven't had time to put pencil to paper in exactly a year now, and unfortunately that has also meant that I have lost to
Hello everyone!
Well, it's crunch time for me... my big exam is just 20 days away now. And then on the 30th Novemeber, I'm getting married to my GF of 6 years, Richa :)
I'm really frustrated that I haven't been able to draw anything in a while, or stay in touch with you guys :( But I did want to say to everyone on my friend list- I really treasure the friendships I've made here, and I hope to get back to doing what I love soon :)
So then it's off to the Maldives for a week after the wedding, and then I'm back to drawing come January :) Maybe even a few portraits of the wife :) LOL "wife" haha. Takes some getting used to.
Love to you all
